History of Men's Ministry in the Church of God
The Church of God has demonstrated outstanding leadership in men’s ministry. Charles Beach was the first director of men’s ministries, and under his leadership and the subsequent leadership of Dr. John Nichols, the Church of God Men’s Fellowship was established to help mobilize the men of the church. Dr. Beach put special emphasis on teaching men to be witnesses of Christ.
Leonard Albert led the Church of God in Men’s Ministry from 1975-2010. He expanded the goals to support the pastor; resource the local church; to encourage men to become effective witnesses of the Gospel, and be generous stewards of God’s mission.
Through the restructuring process of the Church of God, Leonard Albert moved to the Division of World Evangelization at the 2010 General Assembly with the assignment of special emphasis on teaching Personal Evangelism. Men’s Discipleship was established in the Division of Discipleship to develop and implement a strategic discipleship for men.
